Mending — Series Statement

The Mending series takes the body as its central image. Figures are reduced to silhouettes, fragments, and partial gestures—covering, curling, lifting, touching. These actions do not represent pain itself, but suggest an inward process of adjustment, repair, and self-preservation.

Rooted in personal experience, the series turns toward the body as a site where vulnerability and endurance coexist. Under pressure, uncertainty, and emotional weight, the figure does not fully recover, nor does it collapse. It continues to hold, adapt, and remain.

Mending is therefore not about healing as a completed state. It is about the unfinished act of repairing oneself—quietly, repeatedly, and without certainty of resolution.
